In Ashianae’s Journey, players have many options available to them when it comes to how to shape their character. Two primary forms of combat exist in Ashianae’s Journey: Melee and Ranged. Melee consists primarily of sword and axe abilities, while Ranged includes spell casting from one of four categories and Archery.

Melee Attacks

Players will have the ability to learn skills in both Axemanship and Swordsmanship. On top of being able to simply use swords and axes in combat, players will be able to perform additional abilities and attacks at close range that have their roots in the various spell trees below. These abilities allow players who may be more interested in training their close range skills to still have an opportunity to use those stat points earned in this area towards spells that supplement their melee tactics.

The Four Trees

  • Arcane Practice - The ability to conjure up spirits and creatures to fight for the caster is primary in this category. Arcane Practice spells tend to be nasty and vile abilities that sap the victims own abilities, health and mana for the casters gain. Most practitioners use their spells to weaken their victims, only to summon dark and ghastly beasts to deliver the final blows.
  • Divinity - Represents all the "Holy" spells of our world. These spells allow the caster to defend themselves against strong and fierce opponents. Those who wield the advanced powers of Divinity are able to keep their entire hunting party alive, while managing a few deathly blows at those attacking them.
  • Nevara - Worshipers of the ancient and powerful mana source that fuels our two societies, those who specialize in the harnessing of the Nevara are able to cast and wield daunting spells of fire and energy. This branch of spell casters are also able to summon creatures to battle for them, although their powers are not as extensive or strong as those of the Arcane. Nevara worshipers at their strongest are able to command the forces and powers of the ancient mana itself to destroy their foes.
  • Devaul - Those who specialize in the spell casting of the Devaul harness the raw power and energy of the sea and air. The Devaul command great respect amongst their foes as they are an even match against the energy found within those who summon the Nevara. Many argue the potential power within the Devaul is greater, as it is the one element that may snuff out the Nevara indefinitely. Those who command its power are able to call upon the sea and water elementals to destroy their enemies.
